Patuakhali is the main tourist district of the southern coast, centred on Kuakata. Sea beaches, casuarina groves, Rakhine villages and fishing ports make for a varied trip. Being easy to reach from Dhaka, it is among the country's most popular beaches.
🚌 How to reach from Dhaka
Direct buses from Dhaka's Gabtoli or Sayedabad take 10–12 hours to Kuakata and cost BDT 900–2,000. A cheaper route is a launch from Sadarghat to Barishal and then a bus. From Barishal, buses reach Kuakata in 3–4 hours for BDT 300–600.
