📖 About this place

Kuakata is a broad sandy beach about 18 km long where Bay of Bengal waves roll in gently. Watching the sun rise out of the sea at dawn and set into it at dusk is the main draw. Walking the shore, riding horses and beach motorbike rides are popular. Many hotels and restaurants make lodging and meals easy.

🚌 How to go

From Patuakhali town, a bus to Kuakata takes 1.5–2 hours for BDT 120–250. Direct AC buses from Dhaka take 10–12 hours for BDT 1,200–2,000.

Hotels and resorts range from BDT 1,500 to 10,000 a night; book ahead on holidays.

Sea hilsa, crab, dried loitta fish and buffalo-milk yoghurt are well known.
