Bogura is one of the oldest settlements of northern Bangladesh, once known as Pundravardhana. On the banks of the old Karatoya river, remains from the Maurya and Gupta eras are still being unearthed. The town is also known for its yogurt, busy markets and growing industry.
🚌 How to reach from Dhaka
From Dhaka, buses to Bogura take about 4 to 5 hours and cost roughly BDT 600 to 1,200. Intercity trains take around 5 to 6 hours with fares of about BDT 450 to 1,200. The road route over the Jamuna Bridge is the most convenient.
