📖 About this place

Tanguar Haor spreads across Tahirpur and Dharmapasha and is an internationally important Ramsar site. In the monsoon you can cruise past swamp forest, small villages and flocks of birds. Large numbers of migratory ducks arrive in winter. Many visitors spend the night aboard their boats.

🚌 How to go

From Sunamganj town it is 1-2 hours by CNG or bus to Tahirpur or Tekerghat for BDT 100-400. Boats then cost about BDT 6,000-15,000 depending on size and days.

Most travellers sleep on the boat. Tahirpur and Sunamganj have hotels at BDT 1,000-3,000.

The boat crew cooks haor fish, dal and rice. Local dried fish is also available.
