The hilly parts of Nalitabari and Jhenaigati hold small villages of the Garo community. Their matrilineal society, homes and festivals can be observed here. A local guide helps in learning about the culture. Being less visited, the experience is warm and quiet.

From Nalitabari bazaar, a CNG or van takes 20–40 minutes for 100–300 BDT. From Dhaka it takes 6–7 hours.
