Kaikhali and Burigoalini are entry points on the western Sundarbans. From here trawlers and boats run along rivers and creeks into the forest. You may see deer, monkeys, birds and sometimes crocodiles. It is less crowded and generally cheaper than Khulna.
🚌 How to go
From Satkhira town to the ghat via Shyamnagar by bus takes 2.5-3.5 hours at BDT 150-300. Boat hire is BDT 2,000-5,000 and a forest permit is required.

Guesthouses in Shyamnagar cost BDT 600-2,000; some tours offer overnight boat stays.

Local prawn, crab and fish. Buy forest honey only from authorised shops.
