Naogaon is called the rice bowl of Bangladesh. It is home to the Somapura Mahavihara at Paharpur, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. With ancient monuments, zamindar houses and tribal culture, the district is a favourite for history lovers.
🚌 How to reach from Dhaka
From Dhaka, buses to Naogaon take 5 to 6 hours at BDT 700 to 1,200. Alternatively take a train to Rajshahi or Joypurhat and continue by bus, about 7 to 8 hours and BDT 450 to 1,000 in total. Going via Bogura by road is also easy.
