The Joypurhat Sugar Mill symbolises the sugarcane economy of northern Bangladesh. In winter, bullock carts and trucks loaded with cane streaming to the mill make a striking sight. The settlements and bazaar that grew around it show local life. With permission, a look inside may be possible.

From Joypurhat town take a rickshaw or auto for 10 to 15 minutes at BDT 30 to 70. From Dhaka, reach Joypurhat town by bus or train first.
