Dhamoirhat is historically important because it lies close to the famous Somapura Mahavihara in Naogaon. Villages here occasionally yield bricks and sculpture fragments from the Pala era. Roads pass through rice and sugarcane fields, making the trip pleasant. Visitors to Paharpur can easily add this part of Joypurhat.

From Joypurhat town, Dhamoirhat is about 1.5 hours by bus or CNG for BDT 70 to 200. Direct buses from Dhaka are limited, so come via Bogura or Joypurhat.
