The Padma chars near Bhanga, close to the Padma Bridge, are still little known. Sandbanks, kash reeds and distant sailing boats look wonderful at sunset. You can hire a local boatman to cross to the chars. In winter the chars are dry and good for walking.

Dhaka to Bhanga by bus takes about 1.5-2 hours for 250-400 BDT. Take an auto to the ghat and then a boat for 200-500 BDT.

Simple hotels in Bhanga or Faridpur cost 1,000-2,500 BDT.
